Exhibition Mode
- Issue:
- If the x symbol appears on the standby screen,exhibition mode is activated. The appliance doesnot heat up.
- Advice:
- Disconnect the appliance from the electricity for afew seconds (switch off the household fuse or thecircuit breaker in the fuse box). Within 3 minutesafter reconnecting the appliance, go to the basicsettings menu and deactivate exhibition mode.

Power Cut
- Issue:
- The appliance bridges a power cut of up to5 minutes. The operation continues.
- Advice:
- After a longer power cut the appliance will switch off the operation. The J symbol appears on the display and three dashes instead of the temperature. Switch off the temperature knob and switch theappliance back on. The "first settings" menu reappears if the applianceis without electricity for several days. You have toreset the clock.

- Issue:
- Overheating protection: No fluid incooking basin. Overheating protection: Appliancewas run for too long at steam cooking ¥ levelwithout glass cover. Overheating protection: The cookingbasin was filled with very hot water. Overheating protection: Cookingbasin is heavily calcified. The outline ofthe heating element begins to show onthe bottom of the cooking basin as awhite residue. If the © symbol lights up after turning the appliance back on, although the appliance is completely cooled down, notify the Gaggenau customer service.
- Advice:
- Turn off appliance. Fill with cold water atleast to the minimum mark. Let appliance completely cool down. Turn off appliance and let it completely cool down. At steam cooking level, put onglass cover. Turn off appliance and let it completely cool down. Fill cooking basin with coldwater. Turn off appliance and let it completely cool down. Wipe out cooking basin with amixture of vinegar and water or a food-safe decalcifier. Rinse out afterwards with clear water.

¤ blinks on the display.
- Issue:
- Drain valve is not properly opened orclosed.
- Advice:
- Close the drain valve. If it is blocked by residues open the drain valve again. Then remove the residues with a suitable tool (e.g. handle of a wooden spoon).
Appliance is not working. Both illuminated rings flash alternately fast.
- Issue:
- Installation error
- Advice:
- Check correct fitting of the connecting cable tothe control panel.
The corners of the appliance curveupwards slightly during operation.
- Issue:
- The heat causes the cooktop's metal to expand.
- Advice:
- This is normal. No curving is visible after cooling down.
