These error code explanations can help you diagnose a problem with your Bosch Washing Machines.

F01

Inlet Valve

Issue:
Bosch Washing Machine Error Code F01 - If your washing machine is displaying either an F01 error code on the digital display panel, the most likely cause for this would be due to a faulty inlet valve.
Advice:
If the water supply is turned on and the hose pipe is not kinked the problem may be due to a faulty inlet valve. Check the inlet valve with a multimeter to confirm continuity - typically 2000 to 4000 Ohms.

F02

Heater

Issue:
Bosch Washing Machine Error Code F02 - If your washing machine has suddenly displayed an F02 error code, it’s mostly due to a defective heater.
Advice:
Accessing the washing machine’s heater, you need to check for damage, this can be identified by loose or burnt connections. If there is no visible damage, use a multimeter and check for resistance.

F03

Drain Pump

Issue:
Bosch Washing Machine Error Code F03 - If your washing machine has flagged up either an F03 error code, the most likely cause for this would be a problem with the drain pump as it may have become faulty.
Advice:
Locate the drain pump. Using a multimeter check the Pump, you will be looking for a reading of between 100 and 300 Ohms - with a reading of zero or excessively over then a pump has failed and will require replacing.

F04

Carbon Brushes

Issue:
Bosch Washing Machine Error Code F04 - If your washing machine has flagged up with either of the following F04 error code, the likely offender for this cause would be a faulty motor.
Advice:
Depending on your model, remove the backplate to access the motor. Remove the motor and check for any signs of damage. Remove the carbon brushes and check for any signs of wear, replace if required.

F05

Carbon Brushes

Issue:
Bosch Washing Machine Error Code F05 - If your washing machine has flagged up with either of the following F05 error code, the likely offender for this cause would be a faulty motor.
Advice:
Depending on your model, remove the backplate to access the motor. Remove the motor and check for any signs of damage. Remove the carbon brushes and check for any signs of wear, replace if required.

F08

Door Interlock

Issue:
Bosch Washing Machine Error Code F08 - If your washing machine has flagged up with either of the following F08 error code, the likely offender for this cause would be a faulty door interlock.
Advice:
The door handle and catch are not engaging correctly when closed - ensure that the door closes firmly. The door lock is perhaps sticking.

F16

Door Interlock

Issue:
Bosch Washing Machine Error Code F16 - If your washing machine has flagged up with either of the following F16 error code, the likely offender for this cause would be a faulty door interlock.
Advice:
The door handle and catch are not engaging correctly when closed - ensure that the door closes firmly. The door lock is perhaps sticking.

F17
