GFN 13820 X UPRIGHT FREEZER, 312L

Since installation I have had a consistent error message “E 1” I have had the local agents in Cape Town check the machine out and after changing both the computer module and digital display the problem has not been solved. I had been informed by an UK friend that perhaps the error could be related to the circulating fan? I am not sure how that is possible as the fan does turn, but strangely always returns to the exact same position when stopped. Is this correct? Please advise what error E 1 is all about?
