All types of electrical appliances have model numbers which are printed on packaging and usually on the product itself. Your model number is located in the appliance user manual or on the product itself. If you need to find your E-NR (model number) and FD (production) number, you will find these on an information panel on the appliance known as the 'rating plate'. Please choose your appliance type to find out where to locate the rating plate.
Should you require the model number of your appliance for identification purposes, for example, when looking for spares and accessories on this website or when organising a repair; In the first instance always refer to the manufacturers instruction manual which would have been included with the product at point of purchase. In a lot of cases information found here is all that will be required. For those manufacturers that do use specific model/serial numbers, these are usually found on stickers or rating plates found in less visible areas of the product.
We would urge all our customers to only search their appliance for this rating plate as a last resort especially when dealing with appliances which are hard wired into the gas, electricity or water supply as there is the potential for fatal injury or irreparable damage to your appliance and or immediate surroundings. If you are unsure whether to locate this information yourself, seek advice from the manufacturer or a qualified engineer, if the appliance uses a gas supply consult a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Manufacturers often make changes to models, throughout their production, which can sometimes result in different parts being used for a model. A series number would indicate if there was a change in production from the original appliance produced. For instance, a motor may be changed mid-year, which could mean that a different wiring harness has to be used. If your revision # is not on your appliance tag. That is ok. You can use the first two digits of your serial number, as seen below.
To find the right spare part for your domestic appliance, you need to know the appliance’s model number. Your model number will usually be found inside the door of your appliance, or at the rear.
