Domestic Appliance Forum

My washer has stopped half way through a cycle. I have emptied the drum using the hose at the bottom and checked the filter but it is still showing a symbol of a padlock and a key. It will not let me open the door or set another wash cycle. I have left it switched off all afternoon and then tried switching it on again but its still the same.
Any ideas please?
