Hi, I live in Mexico and unfortunately own a SMEG gas stove/oven. Apparently SMEG service is useless.

While cleaning the oven burner, what looks as a uninsulated copper wire got disconnected from a golden plug which also has a red cable on it (I assume it's the thermocoupler - SKU 948650225, https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/948650225-smeg-oven-and-grill-thermocouple ).

Now we cannot ignite the burner, it goes off as soon as the know is lifted.

Loking at the grill burner, it seems to have the same connections with that copper look-alike wire going into the recess golden plug together with the red cable.

So I pushed the copper wire beside the red cable and PUM, it turned on quickly.

The problem is now that about after 1 hour cooking, the oven turns off. Maybe it turns off when reaching a certain temp.

I wonder how that copper wire shoul be attached in the plug. Is it only pressed inside? Should be soldered? Should I try to combress the plug using pliers?

SMEG Mexico is not even sending a technician and it seems to be something relatively simple if the oven now works for 1 continous hour without any major repair.

Thanks a lot for your help.
