I have a Miele H5981BP Oven in a property I am renting. It recently stopped working with a 44 error. Basic troubleshooting suggested by Miele customer service (turning off and on again) did not work. Miele could not send an engineer for 2 weeks (despite initially taking payment for a call out and giving an appointment in 2 days). I cook a lot so 2 weeks with out the oven was not good. Yesterday (in desperation) I managed to turn it on and get it to start in pyrolytic mode. After a pyrolytic cleaning cycle it seems to work OK again.

My question is: Should I still get the Miele engineer out to look at it. Do you think the pyrolytic cleaning cycle has fixed the problem or has it just coaxed it back to life temporarily?

Hi Sam,

I have the same make and model of oven and I also have had the same 44 fault code, did you manage to find out the cause of the problem?

Damon.
