From water leaks to excessive shaking and foul smells, we know just how frustrating it can be, and we\u2019ve compiled a guide for troubleshooting common problems, offering some simple yet effective washing machine repairs.&nbsp;<\/amp-fit-text><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>My machine is leaking<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A leaking washing machine can lead to major water damage so it\u2019s essential to turn it off immediately. You should then check the pipes and hoses to ensure they are tightly secured, whilst internal hoses can also be checked by simply removing the front or rear panel. Even the slightest crack on the hose or loose joint can result in a leak, so the solution may be simpler than you think, however, if problems persist it\u2019s always best to call on a professional in your local area. This switch controls the locking mechanism for the door, but the machine will not be able to operate if the door is not locked securely. Mould thrives in environments where it\u2019s warm and damp, and unfortunately, washing machines can provide the perfect home, allowing the fungus to not only survive, but thrive, especially if there is a build up of leftover detergent or lint.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This bacteria will usually be located in the lint filter, the rubber seal on the door or the detergent drawer. If you\u2019re able to locate and remove the mould, the smell should go away, however, it\u2019s always best to run a regular hot wash from time to time. Be sure to keep the drum empty but just add a touch of white vinegar to kill any accumulated bacteria and neutralise horrid smells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>My machine is shaking&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When a washing machine shakes it can cause damage to flooring, kitchen units or worktops, so it\u2019s important to check whether there are any clothes stuck in the door or piled up on one side of the drum as this can effect the machine\u2019s rotation.
